The Scrapbook Cottage Offers Classes With Teri Monique Handbag Artist

Online, July 4, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Scrapbook Cottage, The Bahamas' unofficial Scrapbooking Head quarters, has teamed up with Textile artist and handbag designer, Teri Monique (Teri M. Bethel) to host an amazing slate of painting classes for those who are interested in learning or improving their abilities to paint with texture.
Proprietor of The Scrapbook Cottage, Mrs. Keshia Pratt, was thrilled to enroll in the class after learning about it online. "I stumbled across Teri's Paint With Texture website. It was amazing. I didn't know we had this level of artistry in the Bahamas and what's more, Teri was willing to share it with others- that in itself is uncommon."
Mrs. Pratt a frequent participant in overseas training courses said that she signed up with BAIC without hesitation. Although Mrs. Pratt was a little timid initially having never painted before, Teri Monique was able to dispel all concerns within a few minutes of the class. By mid-week Mrs. Pratt was creating amazing textured fabrics and more.
"Teri's style is personable, engaging and effective. She had the entire class painting tropical flowers and leaves by the end of our first session." Noting that the BAIC classes were dedicated solely to Bahamians, Mrs. Pratt a scrapbooking instructor saw the opportunity to bring the Paint with Texture classes to her clientele. Textured painting is an art that can be applied to a number of surfaces including fabrics, purses, shoes, shells, wood, cards and more.
"We provide classes for Bahamians, residents and foreigners in a safe, air conditioned and comfortable setting and thought it would be great to invite Teri to share her techniques with our students. Our classes are very small and we offer one-on-one attention." Mrs. Pratt stated. "I have personally benefited from Teri's techniques and method of teaching and believe that it is so valuable we must share it with more persons."
The Scrapbook Cottage has been offering classes for several years now and has found its niche in providing classes for professionals and hobbyists who wish to create another stream of income or simply enjoy a new hobby in the area of scrapbooking. "We've had tourists stopping by for some time on their trips to Nassau and hope to encourage tourists to take a 3 day vacation and spend a portion of their day painting textures with Teri."
Mrs. Pratt is thrilled that this is one class she doesn't have to leave the island to participate in and is happy to have the opportunity to host such a class at the Cottage. "I'm in talks with Mrs. Bethel right now to provide even more diverse classes at The Scrapbook Cottage. We are currently offering textured painting classes for kids and an intensive Texture Painting Class for adults."
Asked whether or not Teri Monique will be offering any classes on the making of the famous Teri Monique Handbags, Mrs. Pratt smiled. "I'm still trying to convince Mrs. Bethel that it is a much needed class but we'll have to wait and see if she agrees to share her valuable handbag making secrets with us too."
