The Smiles for Jake Foundation Announces 1st Annual "Night of Hope" and Silent Auction to Support Families of Children Battling Cancer at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Online, April 7, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Doylestown, P.A. - April 7, 2010 - The Smiles for Jake Foundation (SFJ) will host its first annual "Night of Hope" and silent auction on Saturday evening, April 24, 2010 from 6pm - 11pm at the New Hope Winery in Bucks County, PA. Proceeds from this benefit will help provide much needed financial assistance to families of children battling cancer at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In addition, donations will be made to CHOP's Oncology Department in support off pediatric brain tumor and pediatric cancer research.
The Smiles for Jake "Night of Hope" will feature a cocktail hour sponsored by Uptowne Deli, followed by a festive night of dinner catered by Outback Steakhouse, signature wine from New Hope Winery, music, dancing and a silent auction. SFJ is also honored to welcome a very special guest speaker from the Oncology Department at CHOP.
Guests will have the chance to purchase tickets for a 50/50 raffle and bid on several exceptional silent auction prizes donated by local businesses and restaurants, including one-night getaways, spa and salon packages, custom photography and tons of sports memorabilia from PAC Signatures. The auction will raise much-needed funds to help families under financial strain pay for costly expenses such as co-pays, childcare, utility bills and hospital parking.
The Smiles for Jake Foundation and the "Night of Hope" were born out the selfless desire of wise and brave young soul, Jake Liam Paternoster, who earned his angel wings and went to be our hero in heaven on February 13, 2008 at the age of 7, after a battle with brain cancer. The foundation's mission is to honor Jake's wish of giving hope and comfort to families of children battling cancer, through donations of financial assistance. We hope you'll join us for the SFJ 1st annual "Night of Hope" - a celebration of life, both that of Jake and every child and family who has endured the cancer treatment process.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased for $55/person and include dinner, dessert and entertainment with cash bar. You can purchase tickets online at the Smiles for Jake website or complete the ticket form on the website and mail to address listed on the form. Tickets can also be purchased at the Uptowne Deli located at 1007 Easton Rd in Doylestown and the New Hope Winery at 6123 Lower York Rd in Bucks County.
Smiles for Jake is extremely thankful for the graciousness of event sponsors, including: dm Photography, Giant Foods, New Hope Winery, Outback Steakhouse, PAC Signatures and the Uptowne Deli as well as all of the businesses who have donated items to the silent auction.

About Smiles for Jake (SFJ)
Smiles for Jake is a 501(C)(3) not-for profit foundation founded by the family and friends of Jake Liam Paternoster who earned his angel wings and went to be our hero in heaven on February 13, 2008. In his infinite wisdom, Jake recognized that it was only with the constant love and support of family by his or her side that a child could find the strength needed to fight for life. It was Jake's wish to do anything and everything possible to ensure financial hurdles not get in the way of family being by an ill child's side - both day and night.
It is the foundation's mission to honor Jake's wish of giving hope and comfort to families of children who have been touched by cancer, through donations of financial assistance. With referrals from partner hospitals, the organization is committed to supporting programs that improve the quality of life for a critically ill child by easing financial obstacles that prevent families from being with their children - and hopefully providing a smile and a ray of hope in the face of adversity.
