The Truth About Drugs Brings Hope to Ghana Activists
Drug-Free World chapters in countries around the world marked International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with drug prevention activities. Two Ghana men, who discovered the program independently, were part of the international commemoration.
Bolgatanga, Ghana, July 11, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Two drug prevention activists from Ghana discovered the Foundation for a Drug-Free World and have adopted its program. Ghana is the 3rd largest consumer of marijuana globally. To change this urgent situation and raise awareness about drugs in their country these volunteers are using the Foundation materials.
The first is a man whose work includes drug education programs on radio, TV and presentations to schools, community groups and churches.

He states that the Foundation’s The Truth about Drugs materials have given him hope that he can actually reach youth to make sane decisions on the subject of drugs.
He says the information in the materials has enriched his drug messages and “the knowledge I have acquired from The Truth about Drugs booklets have lifted my confidence.”
His optimism let him to convince his organization to hold an event for International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which they did at Jubilee Park in the city of Bolgatanga, in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
The second volunteer heads the Drug-Free World chapter in Ghana’s Volta Region. He organized a team of volunteers to hand out copies of The Truth About Drugs at a local market.
The Church of Scientology supports The Truth About Drugs initiative, one of the world's largest nongovernmental drug education and prevention campaigns.
