The Ultimate Stylist Competition Announces Winner and Donation of $129,000 to Born This Way Foundation

In its inaugural year, the Ultimate Stylist competition has announced its 2021 winner. Jasmine Martinez is a Colorado-born, Oklahoma-based makeup artist who will be launching her own merchandise line in September. Martinez is the recipient of the $10,000 grand prize and a two-page advertorial spread in Life & Style® Magazine.

Patrick Lewis, owner of Edit Salon in Chicago, newcomer Selene Doran from Maine, and session stylist Annie Berry from Yellow Strawberry Salon in Sarasota rounded out the top four competitors.

In addition to awarding the prize money to Martinez, the Ultimate Stylist competition donated a portion of the proceeds totaling $129,937.88 to the Born This Way Foundation, co-founded and led by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta. The foundation supports the mental health of young people and works with them through high-impact programs and initiatives to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health.

Stylists worldwide entered into the online voting competition, and those with enough votes from their supporters were able to progress through the rounds. The competition ended on May 20, 2021, with Martinez taking the title. Look for her in an upcoming issue of Life & Style. Stay tuned for more from The Ultimate Stylist.
