The Valley's Community Unites to Honor Post 9/11 Wounded War Veterans
The Home Sweet Home Campaign is proud to announce their 1st annual charity events. With the support of Valley businesses, schools and residents the campaign will be hosting a Charity Auction and a 2 Man Charity Scramble this May. Proceeds from both
Online, April 14, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Mesa AZ - The Home Sweet Home Campaign rallies with the local community to raise awareness and funds for the needs of post 9/11 wounded war veterans. From the "little old lady" in Mesa that is doing it for her grandson, a Marine, to the student councils at two Gilbert Schools, everyone wants to help and their efforts are proving to be the fuel that primes the engine.
In an effort to build awareness of USA Cares and their programs, the Home Sweet Home Campaign will be hosting two community events; a 1st Annual Charity Auction and a 2 Man Golf Scramble. Both events will be held in May at the Superstition Springs Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. The Master of Ceremonies, Los Angeles Fox News co-anchor Tony McEwing, had this to say, "I cannot image any event that I am looking forward to more, giving back to those that have sacrificed so much for us. It is not only a pleasure; it is a blessing and our duty. "
The community support that the Home Sweet Home Campaign has received is as diverse as those who've chosen to join our armed forces and serve our country. From the Highland High and Superstition Springs Elementary Student Councils, to the local retired PGA pro, a Mesa grandmother, a retired Scottsdale Marine and a quilting group in the West Valley that will donate their time to quilt lap-wraps for wheelchair bound veterans; the list goes on and on.
But the generosity does not stop there. Local businesses, both large and small, have donated over 100 items for the 1st Annual Auction. With a wide variety of auction items and price ranges, everyone will have an opportunity to bid and support the cause. Ranging from California vacation trips to celebrity autographed memorabilia, a vast selection of local dining, spa services, family entertainment, art and more will all be represented.
The 2 Man Golf Scramble, which will be held on the following Sunday, is the perfect complement to the Friday night Auction. The price is very affordable, the course is beautiful, the benefits are high and the proceeds will go to USA Cares. For $79, the player will receive a $50 range card, a dozen Nike Tour balls, Awards Lunch and five contest holes.
"We are thrilled to have so many Valley residents and businesses supporting us in these events; enabling us to truly make a difference and help those Service Members that need it most" says Beth Ann VanHoose, Founder of the Home Sweet Home Campaign. Proceeds from both events will go to USA Cares Warrior Treatment Today Program. This program assists veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) in receiving the medical assistance they need and deserve.

About the Home Sweet Home Campaign
The Home Sweet Home Campaign was inspired by Tim Little; a US Army reservist who served two tours in the Middle East and currently suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Tim and his family nearly lost their home while he was being evaluated by the VA, but thanks to USA Cares, they were able to stay in their home and focus on the future and healing.
The Home Sweet Home Campaign has pledged to raise $1 million for USA Cares Warrior Treatment Today Program. A program designed for all post 9/11 wounded war veterans, bridging the gap between personal financial demands and the need to receive treatment. The Campaign has several venues to help raise funds; through the sales of T-Shirts designed exclusively for the campaign, through the Groups That Care Program and through local fundraising events.
