The WOMB Vaughan Poised to Become GTA's Leading Wellness Centre

One-year anniversary celebrated with launch of Angel Fund Initiative to benefit families in need

In just a single year of operation, The WOMB Vaughan has firmly established itself as a leading wellness centre for the GTA region as evidenced by its numerous successes and initiatives.

The Pre/Postnatal and Family Wellness Centre celebrated its one-year anniversary on November 14th with an Open House event marked by an official ribbon cutting ceremony, free workshops such as Starting Solids, demos of many fitness and children's classes and complimentary services including Massage.

The first-year anniversary coincided with the launch of The WOMB Vaughan's official new website (https://thewombvaughan.ca), an online platform through which clients can access information and book women's health solutions for fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum-related challenges in addition to pediatric and family wellness services.

Co-Owners and Directors Suzanne Serfaty and Ilana Katz opened The WOMB Vaughan as a place that could offer full support, nurturing and loving care to parents on their journey during the pre-conception, pregnancy, and postnatal stages. "It is a part of our mission to offer a place for Community and Connection to families. We are so much more than just a Wellness Centre."

The WOMB Vaughan officially opened its doors on November 2, 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. After an unprecedented year of uncertainty, The WOMB Vaughan has grown into a flourishing business that includes a caring team of nearly 40 practitioners.

Despite the hardships and difficulty brought on by the pandemic, the two Co-Owners decided to continue with the opening in order to meet the needs of the community.

"People are still having babies, and they need support and resources. We have to make it work," Serfaty said, explaining that the new facility can reach out to new moms who feel isolated. "We weren't going to let it stop us from proceeding."

"The WOMB Vaughan is proud to have established a safe place in this community where women can receive the unconditional care and support they need to allow their babies and families to thrive," added Katz.

Unveiled during the first-year anniversary open house event, the Angel Fund will help support families in need by covering services that they couldn't otherwise afford or access. Past examples of how the Angel Fund has helped families include providing doula support for a family where the mother tragically passed during childbirth, and providing lactation support for a mother who wanted to breastfeed but was in the ICU.

"With your generous support and donations, we can truly make a difference," said Serfaty. "Through the Angel Fund initiative, our WOMB community can come together and support others in our village who are in need of love and a helping hand."

The Angel Fund was originally launched at The WOMB's flagship location in Milton. Individuals interested in contributing to The WOMB Vaughan Angel Fund can do so here.
