Online, September 12, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Criswell & Criswell Plastic Surgery is participating in the 4th annual Queen City in Pink event, in addition to supporting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for the third year.
Charlotte businesses like Criswell & Criswell will be turning their building and sign lights pink during the week of September 30 through October 7, 2012 to support the efforts to find a cure for breast cancer and to honor those who have been affected by or lost their lives to the disease. Pink is known as a color that symbolizes femininity. The use of the pink ribbon began in 1991 when the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed out pink ribbons to participants in a race for breast cancer survivors. And the next year, pink was officially adopted as the official symbol of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In 2011, almost 80 buildings in Charlotte participated in the Queen City in Pink event, and this year Criswell & Criswell Plastic Surgery is helping to raise business involvement by turning the Criswell & Criswell sign lights pink at both the SouthPark and Ballantyne Village location.
Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with hope and determination and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization stands in honor for the strong woman that many loved and miss. The Susan G Komen Foundation gives those who are affected by or have lost loved ones to breast cancer hope that a cure will be found. Events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure receive generous contributions from partners, sponsors, and fellow supporters to help find a the cure and help fight against breast cancer.
