Third Generation Artist Sells to the Global Art Network Showing She is the One to Watch

Debut Contemporary Exhibition Dates: 6th - 13th December 2016

Leto Lama surrounded by her paintings 'The Gathering' and 'Energy'

There was a buzz of excitement as the great and the beautiful descended upon Westbourne Grove to celebrate the launch exhibition of international artist Leto Lama.  Guests travelled from as far as the USA, Greece and Hong Kong to attend the highly anticipated launch and to be among the first to acquire some special pieces. Leto Lama’s supporters include art collectors and VIPs from UBS, Credit Suisse, the shipping and super yacht world, global entertainment brands and tech and gaming entrepreneurs.

Leto Lama grew up immersed in the art and poetry of her family, passionately painting since the age of just 5 years old.  Her artistic heritage is impressive and has been a strong influence on Leto and is apparent in her work.  Leto has Greek, Hungarian and Tibetan heritage and is the daughter of painter Eva Persaki and granddaughter of Hungarian French sculptor László Szabó. Her grandmother, cubist and abstract painter Gianna Persaki (student of Fernand Léger and André Lhote), was the life companion of renowned Greek poet Miltos Sachtouris.

Discovering Leto Lama has been a wonderful experience and a lovely end of year gift to me, and to the art world at large. Her talent and skill are undeniable and her ambition and work ethic are to be desired for. I predict a very bright future for this talented artist whose background and upbringing make her an artist to watch in 2017 and beyond. I look forward to assisting her in reaching a global success in the years to come.

Leto uses oil on canvas, applying colours layer by layer to achieve the desirable outcome as well as embracing the impasto technique. Her work is focused on abstract creations arising from geometry and composition simplification as well as forms & figures. The colours vary and her inspiration is drawn from dreams, stories, life experiences, relationships and emotions using the canvas and differing techniques as a form of creation and a way to express her thoughts and ideas.

A strong artistic family, coupled with her Asian origins has granted her with a unique style inspired by both Western and Eastern influence.  Leto’s figuratively abstract style entices and excites with a depth of creativity welcomed by the supporters and critics.  This initial exhibition is a near sell-out and is regarded as an unprecedented success.  Leto Lama is definitely an artist to watch in 2017.
