Thomas Cook Publishing's Liverpool CitySpot guide, packaged by The Content Works and released for the first time this year, has been nominated for the Travel Book of the Year-Guide Book Award within the prestigious Travel Press Awards 2009.

London, U.K.-October 6, 2009- Thomas Cook Publishing's Liverpool CitySpot guide, packaged by The Content Works and released for the first time this year, has been nominated for the Travel Book of the Year-Guide Book Award within the prestigious Travel Press Awards 2009.

Since 2002, The Content Works has collaborated with publishing companies to provide top-notch content and project management for their publishing projects. Based in London, The Content Works has a team of international writers, researchers, translators and editors that provide unique, local content to meet clients' needs.

"We are thrilled that the Liverpool CitySpot has been nominated to receive the Guide Book Award in the Travel Press Awards. The author of the Liverpool guide, David Cawley has worked with us on various projects over the years and when it came to commissioning the Liverpool guide, he was our first choice," Says Lisa Plumridge, Managing Director of The Content Works. "Thomas Cook is a bastion of British travel guide publishing and we are proud to manage their CitySpot guides for them. This is welcome recognition for a series of pocket guides that excels among stiff competition," says Plumridge.

"Working with The Content Works to complete this project has been a thoroughly rewarding experience. I enjoyed seeing how the talented team pulled together from project start to finish to create a book with eye-catching imagery and clear, user-friendly cartography," said David Cawley, author of the Liverpool CitySpot.

"It's great to see CitySpots receiving some very well-deserved attention. This nomination is brilliant news- for The Content Works, the author and for the Thomas Cook brand within the guidebook sphere," says Kelly Pipes, CitySpots editor and freelance travel writer.

"Given our relative size in this very competitive sector, this nomination is a great endorsement of the Thomas Cook brand - we are delighted" says Chris Young, the Director of Publishing at Thomas Cook Publishing.

"The Content Works has managed travel-related publishing projects consisting of guidebooks to online projects that required content to be translated into multiple languages including Japanese and Mandarin. Their travel expertise and ability to take any publishing project to a level of greatness surely deserves recognition," says Brice Bay, Group CEO over Content Works and 10Best, Inc.
