Timeshare Advertiser BuyaTimeshare.com Commences Thanksgiving Food Drive

The online timeshare resale and rental advertising company will collect food through its Tampa, FL and Merrimack, NH office locations to donate to charities.

With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, timeshare resale advertising company BuyaTimeshare.com (http://buyatimeshare.com) has started its annual holiday food drive. The outreach effort will support charities operating in the regions in which the company has its corporate offices - Tampa, FL and Merrimack, NH.

Employees will collect canned goods and other nonperishable food items from now until Monday, November 25, at which time the food will be delivered to their respective organizations. The Merrimack collection will assist the New Hampshire Food Bank (http://nhfoodbank.org) while the Tampa outreach will benefit Metropolitan Ministries (http://www.metromin.org)

"We have conducted these holiday food drives several times over the years, and we're very pleased to be able to support such worthwhile groups," said BuyaTimeshare.com president and CEO Wesley Kogelman. "These are initiatives which are driven by our employee's desire to assist our communities, completely organized by volunteers looking to give back to those needing help this year, so we have coordinated our efforts in order to help these people."

Food banks and outreach programs such as these are facing difficult times, with the New Hampshire Food Bank stating that 2013 has been its most difficult year in nearly three decades of existence due to dwindling donations and increased demand from residents.

"We anticipate losing about one million pounds of food, which for us is 800,000 meals," Melanie Gosselin, Director for the New Hampshire Food Bank told WMUR-TV in a recent interview. She added that "when we ask people to rally, now is the time we really need assistance."

The problem could be exacerbated in 2014 by potential cuts in federal food aid, with a congressional conference committee debating a farm bill which could cut at least $4 billion from the federal food stamp program.

"These organizations have traditionally relied on the generosity of local communities, whether it is business support or individual participation. Especially around the holidays, there is a need to make sure everyone gets a decent meal so we are fortunate to be able to contribute," added Kogelman.
