Tipitap's Booksy For iPad Records Kids' Reading Out-Loud And Helps Tracks Their Progress.

Booksy, a learning-to-read-platform developed by Tipitap, a specialist in early education apps, is filled with powerful features including the ability to record children's voices during their reading sessions.

Tipitap's Boosky - a learning-to-read platform - is an iPad app which includes a library of leveled readers for children pre-K to 2nd grade.

"With Booksy, kids can select and read books from our library while a discreet voice recorder chronicles their first steps reading independently. Booksy tracks every reading session, saving performance metrics and the recordings. Adults can monitor the child's progress from a Parental Dashboard and choose to receive the recordings by email," says Tipitap co-founder Rodrigo Benadon. Tipitap believes Booksy is the best new way to track children's reading endeavors.

In contrast to other products that attempt to 'gamify' the reading experience, or where books are being read to children by an app, Tipitap believes if given amazing books and tools to read independently, kids will improve their reading skills and foster a love for reading.

To accomplish this, all the Booksy readers have "tap-any-word" functionality allowing children to tap words they find challenging and hear them read out loud. Kids become independent readers because they don't have to ask adults how to pronounce tough words. Parents and teachers can monitor which words were tapped in the Parental Dashboard, a reporting module that provides an overview of every reading session with granulated metrics.

Booksy's growing library consists of Level 0 and Level 1 readers. The growing library includes fiction and science readers that were created in partnership with PhDs from top universities. Booksy is filled with powerful features, but Tipitap explains that it's important to have an age appropriate interface that's simple and cohesive for both children and adults to use without overpowering graphics and animations.

The Free edition of Booksy supports up to 3 users and includes 2 free books. Additional titles are available in the Booky Bookstore as in-app purchases for $0.99.

Teachers can see how many books have been read, how many times, and for the Level 1 readers, see if the children have taken the supportive comprehension quizzes available for each book.
