"Toast to Living Well" Gala Raises $180,000 for the Altus Foundation

The Altus Foundation's "Toast to Living Well" gala on Saturday, December 12th raised $180,000. Houston-based, ZT Wealth and Altus Health, hosted the 14th annual event and was awarded a Certificate of Congressional Recognition by Congress woman, Sheila Jackson Lee, for the TTLW gala.

​More than 1,600 people joined in the spirit of the season at The Altus Foundation’s “Toast to Living Well” gala on Saturday, December 12, 2015, in Houston. The gala raised $180,000 for The Altus Foundation, which provides resources and support for financially challenged patients in the Houston area in need of healthcare and hospice services. The funds raised will help provide millions of dollars’ worth of healthcare services to those in need.

Houston-based, ZT Wealth and Altus Health, hosted the 14th annual event and was awarded a Certificate of Congressional Recognition by Congress woman, Sheila Jackson Lee, for the TTLW gala. Taseer Badar, chief executive officer, and Kraig Killough, chief operating officer, entertained guests this year at the Hilton Americas Hotel in downtown Houston, which was transformed into a “White Winter”-themed wonderland complete with snow, fog and ballerinas. Guests had the opportunity to win a BMW 320i sedan in a special raffle provided by ZT Motors.

This year’s event also included special guest appearances by Houston Astros starting pitcher and 2015 Cy Young Award winner, Dallas Keuchel; former NFL tackle, Ephraim Salaam; former NFL wide receiver, Kevin Walter; former NFL wide receiver, Tim Carter; former NFL defensive end, Travis Johnson; Houston Texans’ Senior Director of Communications, Kevin Cooper; Houston Hot 95.7 radio DJ, Coco Dominguez; Super Bowl champion, Lawyer Milloy; and New York Yankees third baseman, Alex Rodriguez. A tribute video to Rodriguez was made about his professional career giving him a Texas-sized congratulations for his comeback in 2015.

​Altus Foundation’s board member and sportscaster for KPRC News 2 Houston, Chester Pitts introduced the foundation’s new video highlighting some of the patients the foundation was able to help this year. “We appreciate the support of our partners and donors in the community who helped make this year’s Toast to Living Well such a great success,” said Pitts.
