Too Worried About Putting Food on the Table to Put Food in the Bowl?
Help the Humane Society of Tampa Bay fill the bowls of community pets. Join the GFWC New Tampa Junior Woman's Club Sunday September 26th at Texas Roadhouse Wesley Chapel.
Online, September 14, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Wesley Chapel, FL -- Ever wonder how people struggling to feed themselves can afford to feed their animals? The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has an answer: Casper's Cupboard.
Named for the dog that nearly starved to death tied up outside his own home, Casper's Cupboard provides free pet food to families who are experiencing financial hardship.
In today's economy, putting food on the table comes first. Casper's Cupboard can help put food in the bowl. Executive Director Sherry Silk credits this program with allowing hundreds of families to be able to keep their pets. "We started this program because we saw people turning their pets in because they couldn't afford to keep them. Hours get cut, people lose jobs, but this helps out in these times. It's prevented thousands of animals from being turned in".
The New Tampa Juniors a group of the General Federation of Women's Clubs and Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Wesley Chapel are hosting a pet food drive Sunday, September 26th.
