Top 100 Most Influential Asians List
Tuesday 16th of April marks the launch of the world's first "Top 100 Most Influential Asians" list. The publication is being launched at the prestigious Asian Awards, in Partnership with UK Sotheby's International Realty.
Online, April 12, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The publication is a first and codifies the 100 most influential people of Asian heritage from across the whole of Asia for 2013. From India to China, Japan to Indonesia, the Top 100 Most Influential Asians list includes people from all backgrounds, from business magnates to world leaders, actors to activists, and features powerhouses like Sachin Tendulkar, Ang Lee, Rahul Gandhi and Aung San Suu Kyi.
The list has been compiled by The Asian Awards founder Paul Sagoo and his team of experts. Representing thousands of hours of research and deliberation, this heavyweight publication seeks to be the definitive tome of reference when it comes to influential people of Asian heritage. Paul Sagoo said: "Creating this list was no easy task, but it was something I believed in very strongly from the outset.
"The Asian Awards are a celebration and so is this publication. With literally thousands of inspiring and influential people of Asian origin in the world today, distilling our initial research down to a quantifiable top 100 was a mammoth operation. I believe what we have created here is something truly special."
In creating the Top 100, many factors had to be considered by the production team. Unlike a "rich list" there is no recognised quantifiable measure for influence. That's partly why a list of this kind has never been written before - not even by Forbes. The researchers had to consider a vast number of factors, which all contribute to how much influence a person holds.
Wealth, political office and military influence were all key factors, however the ability to reach vast audiences across the globe was also a serious bonus for potential entrants. Previous awards and recognition were also taken into consideration, as well as philanthropy and scientific achievement. In addition to this, the experience of the team creating the Top 100 was also key, as there are certain factors of influence that cannot be quantified with statistics, meaning the judges had to award points for candidates with legendary status. All this work has created a publication, which will be hand delivered to each individual member on the list.
The Asian Awards, in Partnership with UK Sotheby's International Realty, will be held on April 16th 2013 at London's Grosvenor House. Three of the Top 100 will be attending the event and the list is sure to provoke some healthy debate.
