Top African ISP Partners With Evaden For Email Solution

ISPs are experiencing more and more customer demand for cloud-based services, email being among the top requests. Evaden's Microsoft certified UMC platform is helping ISPs to confidently and effortlessly service this customer driven change to SaaS.

Africa's largest ISP, Internet Solutions, is now offering its customers a cloud-based UMC solution, with the help of SaaS UMC specialist, Evaden.

With mounting pressure being placed on ISP companies by their customers in regards to increasing their bandwidth, processing power, security and mobile facilities, IS felt that the ideal solution lay within a cloud-based environment.

The company's customer base was looking for a platform which would provide cost-effective email archiving, security and business continuity services. The challenge for IS therefore, was to find the ideal solution which would address the issues of compliance and scalability; integrating seamlessly with its customers' varying technology infrastructures and meeting their individual business needs.

Hayden Lamberti, Application Solutions General Manager at IS, explained the difficulties the company faced initially, after taking the decision to integrate SaaS into its portfolio of products. He says: "Early on in our research, we discovered that several firms were offering security and filtering tools but that these were all in fact versions of existing on-premise software, simply adapted to a cloud platform and so were not stable or compliant enough. Stringing together a combination of products to achieve the desired result was not a robust option either, and was likely to result in integration issues".

IS then came across Evaden UMC, a cloud-based platform with few OEM components and the flexibility to create bespoke licensing deals to suit each ISP individually.

Evaden is a leader within the cloud economy and is the only such UMC provider to carry the Microsoft S+S ISV certification, focusing on enhancing core business competencies including security, compliance and business continuity. It aims to cause minimal turbulence and no disruption to email flow during customer migration and can usually be fully integrated and operational in only a few hours.

"With over 1,000,000 mail users under our management, this is a maximum impact roll-out", continues Hayden. "Evaden has listened to what we need and moulded their solution to our specific requirements. We tested many solutions but the fact that this platform was built from the ground up, along with its highly agile WRT updates and functionality requests impressed us more than any other".

Deon Robertson, chief executive of Evaden, was delighted with the firm's new addition to its client base, saying: "Our ultimate aim as one of the foremost brands in cloud computing services, is to reduce cost, administration and complexity for both IS and its customers, providing them with a streamlined environment and helping them to increase productivity. We hope that other ISPs will see IS as an innovator and take on board the need to offer new technologies as a way of retaining customers and enhancing their service".

Brian Brougham-Cook, sales director at Evaden, states that bringing a large ISP like Internet Solutions on board is true testament to the maturity levels of the Evaden UMC service and highlights the level of confidence to other ISPs. "I believe the biggest challenge for ISPs at present is to provide a choice of services to customers. By allowing ISPs to licence our technologies we are facilitating the ISP to provide the choice of Cloud based services to augment their existing offering."
