Toronto Burlesque Festival July 26-29 2018

A sizzling four days of burlesque shows, festival celebrations and international performers.

Toronto Burlesque Festival

From July 26-29, Toronto will be dazzled and delighted by the creative tease of burlesque performance stars from around the world. Fans of the festival know to expect to be blown away by the star-studded line up of burlesque shows and parties. New spectators can expect to be seduced by a celebration of diversity and body positivity. This four-day performance arts festival features 75 live performances in two fantastic venues: Revival Bar and the Virgin Mobile Mod Club.

Now, more than ever, the demand is ripe for entertainment and arts that celebrates and provokes a desire for diversity. The art of burlesque has a history of birthing sexual empowerment, offering seduction as art and challenging what is seen as ‘acceptable behaviour’. Social movements like #MeToo, Body Positivity and gender diversity have created a thirst for spaces where stories are told through the vivacious vehicle of live theatre.

The Toronto Burlesque Festival celebrates many forms of expression with a line-up of performers from across the globe - including group acts and boylesque. The glitter-studded stage includes headliner and Burlesque Hall of Famer Sydni Deveraux, Boylesque TO - recently named 2018 Most Comedic Troupe, and Aria Delanoche - a Montreal native who was recently awarded Best Debut and Most Classic titles. These world-class legends will share the stage with performers from as far afield as California, Colorado and Australia. The festival also features the most titillating cast of local burlesque bombshells ever assembled, including Zyra Lee Vanity, Knox Harter, Peepshow TO, and the woman who started the Burlesque Revival in Toronto in 1998, Tanya Cheex.
