Towing Museum Gets Virtual Makeover

New towing museum logo

The International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum relaunched its website sporting a new look, logo, interactive timeline and other great features. The website tells the story of the towing and recovery industry with photos, featured exhibits, personal stories, events and more.

Whether you know a lot – or a little – about the towing and recovery industry, the museum website is for you. The towing museum website is for anyone with an interest in how the tow truck industry got its start in Chattanooga 101 years ago.

All we want to do is educate the public and celebrate the industry.

Dena Franklin, Executive Director

"My goal is to broaden the industry's reach," says Dena Franklin, executive director of the towing museum, which also includes a Hall of Fame and a memorial called the Wall of the Fallen honoring the lives of towing operators who have died in the line of service, often on the nation's dangerous highways.  "All we want to do is educate the public and celebrate the industry."

Here's what you can do on the new museum website:

  • Explore the interactive Museum History Timeline, which begins in the year 1902, to learn more about the towing industry.
  • Find out about the Hall of Fame and view the video of the 2016 induction ceremony; search the database for names of previous honorees.
  • Visit the page for the Wall of the Fallen and search for people by name.
  • Discover how you can help families of fallen towing operators by donating to the Survivor Fund.
