Toyota's Entune Navigation System Getting Summer Update

Online, July 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - This summer, Toyota has announced that their Entune navigation systems are getting a makeover. Just a few months after the 2013 MyFord Touch update, Entune will receive new apps and features this summer. This popular in-dash infotainment system will add iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com and Open Table to the list of apps that already feature Bing and Pandora.

Entune has made listening to music and staying in touch easy for all Toyota drivers. All Smartphones, including Android, Blackberry and iPhones, can connect wirelessly or with the available USB port to the Entune system. With a simple touch on the 6.1-inch touchscreen interface, drivers can search questions on Bing, listen to their favorite artists on Pandora, and even check fuel prices, stocks, sports scores, traffic and the weather. Now, with the new summer upgrade, drivers will have the chance to listen to their favorite iHeartRadio Stations, find local restaurants with Open Table, and book movie tickets on MovieTickets.com.

Toyota is also expanding vehicles' voice recognition capabilities with Entune's summer upgrade. Toyota's current voice recognition feature on the Entune system is limited to querying the navigation systems' supported functions. This upgrade will extend voice commands to all apps so now drivers can book restaurant reservations or listen to Pandora without taking their hands off the wheel.

Easy-to-use buttons located on the steering wheel make hands-free calling and voice commands simple and distraction-free. With the push of a button, drivers can answer and hang up Bluetooth compatible mobile phones. All they have to do is simply press the voice command button on the steering wheel to start the process.
