TRAA Taking Action - Answering Industry Needs

Online, April 29, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Towing & Recovery Association of America (TRAA) is charged with overseeing the general welfare of the towing industry. As its national representative it is TRAA's duty to respond and comment on legislation that effects the industry majority.

TRAA has written a letter of support for the State and Local Predatory Towing Enforcement Act H.R.4131 proposed by Congressman Moran of VA. TRAA extended their support of H.R.4131 with the caveat that nonconsensual towing rates established by any state or local government be compensatory and reasonable. Shortly thereafter TRAA had the opportunity to comment in support of the proposed Commercial Driver's License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse FMCSA-2011-0031. TRAA believes that the creation of a national clearing house will greatly assist in identifying those drivers who should not be permitted to operate commercial motor vehicles and in identifying employers who are not complying with drug and alcohol testing requirements.

TRAA is responding to the needs of its members by providing new topics and innovative training at the Annual Legislative & Leadership Conference this past March in Arlington VA. TRAA's efforts to lobby legislation that best serves the industry's needs was just one topic of discussion at the recent conference. TRAA will continue to address today's issues to help the industry move forward for positive progress.
