Trade Finance Specialist Exporta Expands with Opening of First Office in Hong Kong
Online, July 22, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The company was formed in Singapore in 2010 as the Asia wing of the UK-based Exporta Publishing & Events Ltd, publisher of Global Trade Review (GTR), the world's leading trade finance publication, and organiser of over 25 global events per year. The establishment of the new office further emphasises the company's commitment to reporting on and facilitating trade flows across Asia and beyond.
"We're very excited about the prospects for increasing our footprint across the whole dynamic Asian region and feel that extending our presence to incorporate both regional hubs of Singapore and now Hong Kong provides huge opportunities for development • in our delivery of both highly topical market coverage and high level gatherings of senior decision-makers," says Rupert Sayer, CEO of Exporta Asia and co-founder of the Exporta Group.
"The scope of potential in Asia and the thirst for specialised knowledge and networking opportunities that Exporta offers the trade finance markets through its publications and events is unrivalled. But a key to success is to enjoy a local presence and enjoy regular contact on the ground. It takes time to build personal relationships. Here in Singapore we've been hugely successful justifying our market-leading position by getting to know the various government organisations, trade and corporate treasury associations and other public bodies around South and Southeast Asia especially, all of whom have recognised our mandate for developing Asian trade and seen the merit of our activities. The ICC, World Bank, IFC, ADB, and others are consistent supporters of our endeavours in Asia and globally. The plan is to replicate this successful drive further across China and North Asia through our new Hong Kong presence," Sayer adds.
The opening of the new office comes only weeks ahead of Asia Trade Finance Week 2013, which takes place at the Raffles Convention Centre in Singapore on September 2-4, 2013. Widely regarded as the world's largest trade, commodity and export finance gathering, the event has enjoyed solid support from International Enterprise Singapore (IE), the government agency responsible for promoting Singapore's role as a global trade hub, as well as regional and international multilateral and commercial organisations.
