Corwen, England (March 10, 2010) - Tradewind, a well-established manufacturer and online retailer of point of sale (POS) solutions, feel that although the recent recession has provided many tough challenges for themselves and related businesses in the advertising industry, they believe that the company has emerged as a much stronger outfit for long-term success.
Tradewind were hit hard during the worst UK recession for sixty years, as have the majority of companies in the advertising industry. Print-related businesses have fallen by the wayside, many having to retire their newspaper stands due to the decrease in revenue. Like many others, Tradewind had to adopt significant changes to their working practices to ensure survival in a cut-throat industry.
The need for better working practices was as apparent as it was immediate, and Tradewind had to make changes to increase overall efficiency and pricing to match their competitors' without going out of business. Tradewind were highly sensitive to the changes but met the challenge aggressively, changing their pricing structure on some of their key items such as acrylic stands, improving in-house efficiency, assessing supplier value and streamlining their online exposure.
"The recession has been an awful time for businesses up and down the country, but things seem to be perking up in 2010. We've seen increases of inquiries and orders which suggests to us that budgets nationwide are improving," says Terry Rogerson, Managing Director of Tradewind. "We've come out of it on the other side stronger than we were before through the experience. It has helped us to improve efficiency and to supply a better end-product for our clients. We had to steady the ship and are a better company for it. Now we are looking forward to the challenges that 2010 will bring."
