Train2Game delivers early Christmas Present to Flamstead Youth FC U11

Training to play games works at all ages. Train2Game is proud the support the next generation of players,

Train2Game, the world's first distance learning computer games developer and games design course provider, have sponsored the Flamstead Youth Football Club for the Under 11's.

Mr Telensky made a surprise visit during the teams training session and handed out 12 complete football kits, including one for their football coach Mark McGreevy, on behalf of Train2Game. Train2Game's generosity means that the team can show off their new kits donning the Train2Game Logo at their next match.

Flamstead Youth FC was founded in 1936 and is affiliated to the sports and social club in the village. The U11 team play 7 a side matches and are in Division 2 of the Bedfordshire Mini Soccer League. So far this season they have played two games and won the first 9-0 and the second 19-0. They are currently placed third in this division, but the teams above them have played more games.

The team have now played together for 5 years, starting when they were aged just between 5 and 6. The squad grew as siblings of other older players at Flamstead Youth FC joined the team. The team started with training sessions on a Saturday morning, when they are taught soccer skills and trained together as a squad, and they still train each Saturday. Some of the original squad have since moved to play for other local teams, including Houghton Regis and Markyate. Several of the current players train and play at various levels with Luton Town FC.

The team has toured both in Camber Sands and Romney Marsh, and at Camber Sands were awarded a sportsmanship trophy, which was presented by Alan Curbishley. The team are hoping to tour again in 2010 with their new Train2Game football kits and next season the team will move to 11 a side, for which they are recruiting new players.

Each player received a numbered home and away shirt, shorts, socks, tracksuit, raincoat and a kitbag all showing the Train2Game logo. Mr Telensky said "The logo is perfect for the team, because they are training to play games 'Train2Game'."

Team coach Mark McGreevy said, "This is the first time the team has had a sponsor and the boys are thrilled with the kit, which they will wear with pride." He continued, " we are also planning to purchase a trophy, which will be presented to the "man of the match" each week, and this will be named the Telensky Trophy."

Train2Game, whose head office is in Collingdon Street, Luton, have recently had their courses integrated into the University of Bedfordshire's BSc Computer Games Development course curriculum.
