The 2012 Chevy Cruze has pulled ahead as the first car in its class to provide 10 standard airbags. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the Cruze an overall five-star rating. The Eco version of the Cruze carries these safety features, as well as an EPA estimated fuel rating of 42 miles-per-gallon on the highway.

Chevy's Sonic is a subcompact four-door sedan or five-door hatchback that mixes style with advanced fuel efficiency. The 1.4-liter turbo engine is paired to a six-speed manual transmission for a sporty drive. The 2012 Sonic gets an EPA-estimated 40 miles-per-gallon.
