Tremont School Accepting Applications For 2011 - 2012

New Independent School For Grades 5-12 Offers Individualized Learning Approach

The Tremont School is an exciting new independent co-educational middle school in metro west Boston that is opening its doors to 5th and 6th graders in September 2011.The mission of the Tremont School is to offer an experiential, project-based education with a focus on academic, social, and emotional development for a deliberately diverse community of students.

The Tremont School's academic program is built around the belief that students learn best when they are engaged in a dynamic environment where the context for knowledge, and the process by which students create ideas and solutions, are inextricably linked. The core of the Tremont School's unique approach is its Living Curriculum, designed to support students making connections between thinking and doing; between experience and imagination; between the uniqueness of each individual and the workings of a community.

"We are currently enrolling students in grades 5 and 6 for September 2011 and will add a grade each year until we reach full capacity with grades 5-12 in 2017," said David Vaughn, President and Board Member of Tremont School. "We feel that the most vibrant educational environment is created by a deep and real partnership between students, teachers, parents, and administrators. We firmly believe that learning is an ongoing exchange among all members of the school community, and that each student brings to that community strengths and interests that should be nurtured and shared for the benefit of all," concluded Vaughn.
