Maestra Antonella Gallenda Teaches "Master in Mosaics" Classes for a Limited Time in the U.S.
Online, April 20, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Miramar, Fla. - Situated in Venice, Italy, the Angelo Orsoni foundry produces the finest mosaics that are admired worldwide from the Westminster Abbey in London to the grand palace of the Royal Family in Thailand. Master in Mosaics courses, taught by Maestra Antonella Gallenda, have been offered at the Italian foundry for many years, immersing students in the ancient craft of mosaics. In partnership with Orsoni, Trend USA is excited to announce that these courses will be offered in the United States for the first time at participating showrooms.
The Master in Mosaic classes provide an educational learning experience where students will discover the history, secrets and possibilities of self-expression as they experiment with different phases of mosaic art. Lead by Maestro Antonella Gallenda, these classes will be offered at the Riverside, Calif. and Miami, Fla. showrooms during the month of May.

Filati Classes
One day classes of Filati will be offered to a maximum of 15 students for $300. Students will receive a wooden frame, a file, tweezers, putty and all the rods that are necessary to complete a micro mosaic, size 1.6" x1.6". They can work on a proposed subject (fish, flower, butterfly, silhouette of Venice, strawberry) or on their own idea, which should be submitted to Antonella to estimate feasibility. Filati classes will be offered on May 2 and 3 in Riverside, Calif. and May 9 and 10 in Miami, Fla.
Traditional Mosaic Technique
In addition to one-day Filati classes, the traditional technique of mosaic classes are taught over a three day period to a maximum of 12 students for $650. Students will have the chance to practice the use of hammer and hardy, working on their project with the Orsoni smalti applying the direct technique on a wooden support. The price includes materials, support, glue and use of tools. A Master certificate will be also awarded upon completion of the course. Traditional technique of mosaic classes are being offered May 4-6 in Riverside, Calif. and May 11-13th in Miami, Fla.
The Riverside, Calif. classes will take place at the Trend USA showroom at 14528 Merdian Parkway. The Miami, Fla. classes will be located at the Coverings, etc. showroom at 7610 Northeast 4th Court.
