Tri-C and Radcom Collaboration Wins 2010 Communicator Award

Online training module receives award of distinction in interactive category.

(Hudson, Ohio, USA / July 14, 2010) - The collaborative team of Cuyahoga Community College and Radcom, Inc. has won The Communicator Award of Distinction, an award honoring communications professionals for creative excellence. Their entry, "Changes in Body Functions", is part of the State Tested Nursing Assistant's Program and won in the Interactive Multimedia - Education (academic) category.

The International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) announced the winners of the 16th Annual Communicator Awards on May 28, 2010 in New York City. This year's winners were chosen from over 7,000 entries that IAVA received from ad agencies, production firms, interactive agencies, design firms, and public relations firms across the US and around the world.

"We are delighted with the award. It's the result of cooperation and great teamwork between Radcom resources and Tri-C's project manager and subject matter experts," said Jennifer Beaujon, who served as Radcom's Professional Services Manager and instructional designer during the module's development. LaTonya Jackson, Program Coordinator for the STNA program, added that "Because of our student population, we wanted to have a more hands-on approach to learning and using eLearning technology seems like the perfect fit; students would use them during class and then log-in from home after class to practice and repeat."

The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program recognizing communications professionals. The program is overseen by IAVA's 550+ members - leading professionals from various disciplines of the visuals arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.

"With this year's entries we found an increased awareness and reflection of the digital world in which we live, and our entrants always seem to find new and creative ways to push the envelope of possibilities across all mediums", noted Linda Day, director of the IAVA. She added, "We are honored to witness the amazing work being done throughout the industry and want to commend and congratulate this year's Communicator Award winners and entrants for their hard work and dedication. On behalf of the entire Academy - job well done!"
