Tri-North Builders' Fourth Annual Tequila for Ta-Tas Event Raises Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness and Funds

Sept. 26 event will benefit UW Carbone Cancer Center

When pink season arrives every October, much attention is focused on the large multimillion dollar breast cancer awareness campaigns encouraging women to get annual screenings for a disease that is, thankfully, often curable. What often is not addressed in these campaigns is that once breast cancer metastasizes, it is incurable. Despite the amazing, dramatic decreases in breast cancer mortality rates overall, the statistics of metastatic breast cancer (MBC) mortality have not budged in over 30 years.

It is because of this and in honor of close friends of the company whose lives were lost to MBC that Fitchburg-based commercial contractor Tri-North Builders Inc. is hosting their fourth annual Tequila for Ta-Tas event on Sept. 26, 2018. A minimum donation of $30 gets attendees two hand-crafted margaritas, delicious appetizers and great conversation. Non-alcoholic drinks and raffle prizes donated by numerous local businesses will also be available. All proceeds will go to the UW-Madison Carbone Cancer Center’s fund that directly supports Stage IV metastatic breast cancer research.

We're once again honored by the outpouring of support we've received from local sponsors and attendees this year. Anyone that has known or loved someone affected by Stage IV metastatic breast cancer knows the physical and mental suffering that ultimately results in a tragedy. Our goal with this event is to start seeing the mortality rate decrease and ultimately find a cure.

Tri-North was founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 1981 as a general contracting firm. For over 40 years, Tri-North has continuously expanded its services, ranging from preconstruction and construction management to LEED consulting and self-performed work. With three nationwide offices, Tri-North has grown beyond what was imagined. Yet, it has remained privately-owned and managed with Thomas Thayer (one of the original founding members) as the President and CEO. Tri-North is an employee-owned company, and many of its first employees are still with Tri-North today.
