Trilogic Systems Introduces OpenVPX™ 3U Single Board Computer Featuring Intel® 2nd Generation Core™

Product Offered in Four Levels of Ruggedization for Military Market.

Trilogic Systems, a business development channel specializing in Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) technology announced at the 2011 AUSA (Association of the United States Army) Trade Show, the introduction of its first 3U OpenVPX SBC based on Intel's 2nd Generation (Sandy Bridge) Core™ i7 Processor. The VPX-7650 is targeted at deployable applications that require high-bandwidth yet have Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) constraints. Potential applications include software radios, unmanned vehicles, armored vehicles and rugged shipboard systems. The company also announced that they will be adding a VMEbus version of the product later this year with similar features and targeted at similar markets.

The VPX-7650 is offered in a dual or quad-core version with three PCI Express (PCIe) VPX fat pipes, two Ethernet ports (GbE, 10/100/1000) and a host of configurable IO such as SATA, USB and GPIOs. Available in four levels of ruggedization the VPX-7650 can be purchased as a REDI (VITA 48.2) extended temperature (-40C to +85C), conduction cooled version or as a commercial temperature, air cooled version. The product also features on-board temperature monitoring, PMC/XMC front panel & P14/P16 Rear I/O, VxWorks, Linux & LynxOS software support(others available, and digital video & audio ports.

Available with PMC and XMC slots for expanded configurability the board is part of the company's Custom Commercial Off-the-Shelf (C2OTS) offering that allows customers to get a modified version of the board with little or no Non-Recurring Charge (NRE).
