Tumblr Introduces New Feature To Highlight User Content!

Tumblr, the micro blogging platform unveiled a new feature called, 'Pinned Posts' enabling users to give added exposure to their content.

The micro blogging platform, Tumblr has launched a new feature on Thursday called the "Pinned Posts" that enables the users to expose their important posts more effectively to their friends and followers. The feature allows the users to pin their new post on their followers' dashboard with a customizable sticker, so that it succeeds in getting the attention of your followers thereby exposing it more effectively.

Be it information about your new project, new show, creating awareness about a noble cause or about simply sharing an incredible picture, you can post it all and it would remain highlighted for 24 hours , grabbing the attention of more and more people. However the feature is a paid one and will charge 5 U.S dollars on each post, which can be paid using credit card or a pay pal account.

Referring to the feature as a new advertisement product, Derek Gottfrid, the product Vice President of Tumblr said that, although this new feature is similar to that of its existing service, "Highlighted Posts", it is a step ahead of the latter. He also added that, followers can however; choose to un-pin those posts whenever they want like "Highlighted Posts", this feature too is self-serve. The feature also enables its users to increase the exposure of their posts by checking the box that will be displayed below the post.

Sources report that, however it is the fourth ad suite added to Tumblr this year. "Highlighted Posts" being introduced in the month of February and two others, including Radar being added in the month of May.

Gottfrid stated that, the social network would launch an analytics dashboard soon so as to help the users to know the benefits of social exposure. He added that some of the desktop users have already begun getting access to the feature and the rest will get it soon. Tumblr is also looking forward to launch this feature for the mobile users in near future.
