Tupelo Chooses Ultimate Elvis to Represent the Birthplace in Memphis
Online, June 14, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Tupelo's winners have seen a lot of success in Memphis. Tupelo's preliminary winner in 2009, Bill Cherry, went on to win the competition in Memphis. Tupelo's preliminary winner in 2007, Brandon Bennett, was crowned the ultimate winner in 2008. "Tupelo is getting a reputation for sending great competitors to Memphis," stated Debbie Brangenberg, director of the Tupelo Elvis Festival. "Kevin Mills lives up to that reputation. He's a dynamic performer."
Mills, originally from Cinnamonson, N.J., has proven himself a leading Elvis tribute artist garnering many honors throughout his career. Last year, Mills claimed a third place finish in Memphis. This year, Mills enters the competition with the backing of Elvis' birthplace and one goal. "I want to win it." Kevin Mills declared. "I want to make Tupelo proud!" Mills currently resides in Canada with his wife and two children.
