Turn Your Tablet Into A Voice Activated Personal Assistant

Your tablet can now tell you what you need to do and when to do it... literally.

Lakeshore Labs recently developed Kai Says Tablet Edition, the newest version of the cloud based personal assistant Kai Says. Released on April 16, 2014, the Beta version is currently available at no charge for users to download from Google Play, http://www.kaisays.com/getkaisayst

Using artificial intelligence, Kai Says is a voice that enables users to stay on track with their scheduled events during the day as well as provides information for locating destinations, movie show times, weather conditions and more. The Kai Says 'Agenda' module has a built-in calendar system and can sync with Google calendar to announce notifications for events by voice. Users are able to create custom reminder phrases for multiple alerts prior to the start of an event and before the end of an event.

An intuitive dashboard allows users to submit commands to the Kai Says application and review the responses - both spoken and displayed in a 'chat' style window. Powered by Google search, Kai Says follows such commands as "Where is a grocery store near me?", "Show me flights from NYC to Oakland "and "Search books for gardening."

The service offers users to utilize standard phrases for reminders such as "John, the time is 7:00 pm. Please prepare for the task pay bills, starting in 30 minutes." Or customized notifications can be created, "You have to be at the dentist in 15 minutes, let's get a move on."

Steve is continuously working to enhance the effectiveness of Kai Says through extending usability across platforms and devices as well as increasing effectiveness of the software. To obtain the funding needed for the next phase, a campaign will be launched on Indiegogo.com beginning May 12, 2014 and continuing through July 11, 2014. The campaign goal is set for $100,000 to be raised within 60 days.

About Kai Says - http://www.kaisays.com/press

The Kai Says concept is the creation of veteran programmer Steve McDonald, founder of Lakeshore Labs. Steve is diagnosed with severe ADHD and after his symptoms led to a job loss he was prompted to find a solution to cope with the most challenging and impacting issue he dealt with - memory loss. Steve created a prototype on the Android operating system of his smart phone and the voice that is now known as Kai helped Steve by speaking out reminders for tasks, notifying him when it was time to start, stop and shift to the next tasks. Steve would go on to expand this prototype to read and speak Google Calendar event reminders, releasing the first public version known as KaiMobile on Google Play on March 15, 2013. Lakeshore Labs launched a service utilizing this technology under the name of Kai Says in the summer of 2013, expanding the offering to a multitude of devices.
