Compassionate Action Network will be hosting a special reading group to study Karen Armstrong's Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life. The group will be held the third Wednesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 PM at East West Bookshop Tea Garden. On March 16, the topic will be: Look at your own world.

"Compassion is all around you. Look for the mythical heroes right at home." - Reverend Cheen

As part of an international effort to activate the Golden Rule globally, Compassionate Action Network joins reading groups around the world to foster a greater understanding of compassion, and to promote the cultivation and practice of compassion in individual and community life.

TED prize-winner Karen Armstrong believes that while compassion is intrinsic in all human beings, each of us needs to work diligently to cultivate and expand our capacity for compassion. In Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life, Armstrong offers concrete ways of putting compassion into action in our everyday lives.

Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life Reading Groups are affiliated with the Charter for Compassion. The Charter for Compassion is a TED Prize project in collaboration with the Fetzer Institute.
