Two Men And A Truck Sacramento Presents 10 Tips for Moving with Dogs.
Award Winning Sacramento Movers, Two Men And A Truck, offers great tips for dog owners when preparing for your upcoming move.
Online, September 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Sacramento, CA. Moving is one of the most stressful events in someone's life, so why should that be any different for your dog?
We asked Mark Snyir, owner of the Sacramento office of Two Men And A Truck and proud dog owner on how to prepare your dog for its upcoming move.
10.) Under no circumstances should you wrap your dog up in paper, bubble wrap your dog or place your dog in a box. It's hot in there!
9.) Your dog will most likely want to play with the Movers and everyone else, so instead taking them to a kennel, dog spa or having a friend or relative watch them will be the best place for your best furry friend. And then you can devote your time where it is needed, your move.
8.) If you must keep your dog with you during your move, please keep your loved one outside or out of the way of the Movers. Dogs will crave the attention of strangers and can create obstacles for the Movers.
7.) Have Treats on hand. I pamper my dog with treats. It keeps her quiet and it's a good way to get her to listen. It's also not a bad idea to have human treats for your Movers.
6.) Pack a separate box for your dog's favorite toys. Once you get to your new home. It will be crazy, and your dog may be scared. So having his/ or her favorite toys ready will help relax them.
5.) Don't forget they will be so excited on Move Day that they will need plenty of water. Your friend will have their tongue out all day, yelping, barking, crying and trying to lick all the new strangers that pass them by.
So, that means......
4.) Don't forget to make sure you let them out enough so that they can get their "mess" breaks in. Nothing will ruin your new home on Move Day than a mess from your furry friend on your carpet. So let them out frequently.
3.) If the dog will be present during the move, call the Moving Company ahead of time and let them know. You would be surprised how many men are afraid of dogs. Whether they are large or small dogs, it doesn't matter. Also, there could be Movers that are allergic to dogs.
2.) Don't ignore your friend. Take time out to take them for a walk or play with them. A little together time will prove beneficial to your dog being well-behaved as day goes on.
1.) Have fun with everyone. Be happy, maybe you're finally getting divorced and starting your new life or your moving into your first home or moving in with a significant other. This is the time to celebrate. Have the Movers take a picture of you and your dog moving into your new place. What a perfect reminder of the day you two just shared.
Good luck, and Happy Moving.
