On Thursday, February 11th, 2010 the Dranoff International Two Piano Foundation will presents "Two Pianos and the Music of Italy" with Davide and Daniele Trivella - winners of the 1999 Dranoff International Two Piano Competition - and the University of Miami's own Bergonzi Quartet in a evening of premiers for Two Pianos and Chamber Music in a romantic concert of "The Music of Italy" at the Frost School of Music's Gusman Hall.
"Two Pianos and the Music of Italy" is a first time Dranoff collaboration and performance with the Bergonzi String Quartet and one of Italy's most romantic and renowned composers - Giovanni Sgambati. This exciting presentation of the Sgambati Piano Quintet will bring the University of Miami's own Dr. Valentin Bogdan's original arrangement for a world premier of the Sgambati work to South Florida --adding a brand new piece and sextet ensemble opportunity to the repertory. The Trivella Piano Duo will also premier new two-piano arrangements of famed Italian composers Donizetti and Trovesi.

Davide and Daniele Trivella are the 1999 Gold Medal Wnners of the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition. These twins from Florence, Italy are renowned internationally as one of the most awarded and exciting piano duos playing today. Playing for over 10 years throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, the Trivella's have captured the hearts and minds of audiences and critics alike for their soul-connected harmony, originality of style, and creative and thrilling interpretation of the repertoire.
The Bergonzi String Quartet has been the Quartet in residence of the University of Miami since 1992 and has generated enormous excitement around the globe for its superb blend of seasoned and string virtuosi. In 1994 the ensemble was named "Visiting Quartet" for the prestigious society of Four Arts in Palm Beach.
Valentin Bogdan, composer and arranger, a recent doctorate in music graduate from the University of Miami has had his two-piano and other keyboard compositions performed locally at Festival Miami, and throughout the United States and Europe.
