UCROO Announces International Expansion
UCROO has entered the U.S. College market as the central piece of an innovative student technology suite at Saint Leo University.
Melbourne, Australia, July 19, 2016 (Newswire.com) - UCROO Pty Ltd, an education technology company that provides universities, colleges, and other education institutions with a thriving digital campus where students are better connected, supported and engaged, today announced that Saint Leo University will be the first U.S. College to implement the UCROO platform.
UCROO will be the central technology from which all other student facing tools will be accessed. This provides a student engagement piece at the centre of an integrated system that includes Microsoft's Office 365 Education suite, D2L’s Brightspace Learning Management System, MeTL's collaborative learning tool, Chalk and Wire's learning assessment and ePortfolio tools and Smart Sparrow's adaptive learning system.
James McCubbin, Chief Executive Officer of UCROO, said, “This is an exciting opportunity and something we have been working towards since we first launched our platform. We made the decision early on to focus our resources within Australia and then leverage that growth into the much larger U.S. market. This deal is not only significant because it validates our technology internationally, but also because we are part of a visionary collaboration among market leading technologies.”
The integrated system of technologies has been named, “Lions SHARE” by Saint Leo, and is the brainchild of Dr. Jeff Borden, Saint Leo University’s Chief Innovation Officer. For the past two decades, Jeff has focused on transforming higher education. During that time he has consulted with educators in every U.S. state, led transformative efforts in 34 countries, provided almost 100 keynote presentations to audiences of 100-10,000, and spoken with stakeholders from teachers to principals to college administrators and government officials.
UCROO's Chief Operating Officer, Chase Williams, added, “The platform will capture data from all of these integrated tools to better understand the elements crucial to improved learning and student success. The data possibilities here are unique and endless. Activities occurring in these providers’ systems will feed through to UCROO, resulting in centralized web and mobile notifications for re-engaging students in the platform.”
About UCROO
Whilst online education delivery affords students flexibility, it is having a negative impact on other areas of the student experience. Online content delivery physically disconnects students from their peers, staff and the campus, resulting in feelings of isolation, a lack of support and ultimately, a higher dropout rate.
UCROO solves this problem by providing education institutions with a ‘digital campus’ that improves student engagement and retention and helps them transition into the digital age.
