Online, April 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Fantastic news for travellers in the London community as Stansted airport launches two new routes ready for the summer months travelling to Greece as well as Turkey.
Stansted flight terminal has grown in reputation throughout the last ten years and is now one of the key holiday hubs traveling out of London with key service providers for instance Easyjet and Ryanair operating regular affordable plane tickets to Europe from the airport. Now following a popular European launch last year by easyjet, three new airlines plan to start weekly flights to some of the more popular holiday destinations in Greece and Turkey.
The 4 new flights are a low cost flight service by Ryanair travelling to the busy Greek mainland airport Thessaloniki and a direct flight service to the even popular Greek island of Rhodes. Turkey sees two lesser known flight operators with Pegasus airlines flying to Izmir in Turkey and linking the airport with the popular Turkish region of Ankara is Anadolu Jet.
Director of travel for Greek travel agency Kefalonia.co.uk Russ Beech was recently quoted as saying " this is exactly what Greece needs. Following their economic crisis hotel prices are really cheap and they continue to drop prices to encourage tourism. This is a smart move by airlines looking to leverage the increased interest in European travel."
No launch date has being set for the first flights on these routes although it is currently believed that they are aiming for an early Summer launch starting flights in 2011.
