UK Team Wins U.S. Online Competition Due to GameDunzo's New Dedicated Console Based Technology
Online, July 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - GameDunzo hosted a 64 man Call of Duty tournament for charity, driven by the youtube community 'Call of the Community,' where top rated commentators and pro-gaming superstars were brought together in the same arena for the first time ever. This 'first-of-its-kind' tournament format boasted huge audience numbers with over 300,000 unique visitors during the live tournament and over 1,300,000 streamed views. The tournament also raised $20,000 for the following charities: GamersOutreach, Thirst Relief, and Anthony Nolan.
Just 2 months after launching, GameDunzo, and it's proprietary dedicated server technology for the Xbox Live network, has exploded on the online gaming scene with over 60,000 active members, over 400 tournaments completed by members (along with over a hundred thousand individual matches), and over 400,000 unique visitors. The technology boasts blazing connection speed, free of interruptions that has plagued online gamers and online gaming platforms with problems of lost Internet connections since the Xbox Live network was created. The dedicated server performance allowed for a team from the UK to be crowned winners of the tournament which 'Call of the Community' said "...was only made possible by GameDunzo's dedicated server console technology - the UK players were able to connect with the same connection [speed] as the US players."
GameDunzo plans to launch ladder tournaments and national leagues for top game titles later this year.
