ULI Summit Exhibits Unique "Canstruction" at Summit

ULI-Atlanta "Infrastructure Summit 2011: A Region at the Crossroads" will feature unique structure.

ATLANTA, GA. - ULI-Atlanta will unveil an artistic structure built by the unique food charity, Canstruction, at the upcoming ULI Summit on May 24. The structure, called "Strike Out Hunger," will consist of 5,000 cans and will be built by architects who are being flown in from New York.

The theme of the summit, "Infrastructure," harmonizes with Canstruction's mission to cultivate the belief that even one can can make a difference.

"We are excited to feature one of Canstruction's unique structures at the ULI Summit," said ULI Executive Director, Jeff DuFresne. "It is ULI's mission to create opportunities that will improve the foundation of Atlanta, which parallels Canstruction's mission to improve the foundation of the world."

The ULI Summit will feature a panel of national experts, including the president of the Atlanta City Council, Ceasar C. Mitchell. The expert panel will present solutions to four issues that ULI-Atlanta believes are critical challenges currently facing not only Metro Atlanta, but the entire region: transportation, water, education, and lifelong communities. ULI-Atlanta is expecting 800 attendees to the Summit that will be hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

ULI will donate all the cans of food from the structure to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
