UnaBiz Receives Facilities Based Operator (FBO) License for Global Internet of Things (IoT) Network in Singapore

UnaBiz has been awarded the Facilities Based Operator (FBO) license to rollout Sigfox’s Internet of Things (IoT) network in Singapore by the Info-communications and Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore.

As a Sigfox network operator, UnaBiz is committed to delivering a nation-wide IoT network that is a cost-effective and energy-efficient connectivity solution supporting the government’s Smart Nation initiative.

“Singapore is a ‘showcase’ nation for bringing the Internet of Things into the mainstream,” said Roswell Wolff, President of Sigfox Asia Pacific. “We are delighted to work with our partners UnaBiz and Engie to make things come alive with the Sigfox network in Singapore and across the globe. The power of objects to bring value to the many Smart Nation initiatives can now be realised by the commercial availability of the UnaBiz operated Sigfox network service, launched earlier this year.”

Henri Bong, CEO of UnaBiz, said, “This is a very important milestone for UnaBiz. With the newly created FBO license, UnaBiz will accelerate the deployment of Sigfox network in Singapore, and anticipate an exponential growth of demand to connect millions of devices over a simple, low cost, low power and long-range network on our Internet of Things ecosystem.

Internet of Things will have a profound impact on the way everyday people live, work, play and learn. Together with our partners, UnaBiz is committed to deliver more innovative IoT solutions to solve real-life problems, and improve the lives of everyday people.”
