Underwater Defence and Security 2014

Nations gather to discuss underwater challenges in the modern environment

Nations gather to discuss underwater challenges in the modern environment

Progressive and unilateral national reductions in investment of underwater assets and capabilities have resulted in serious gaps and skill fade across NATO member's capabilities. With an increase in the variety and number of underwater threats to lives, infrastructure and the environment, it is clear that controlling the underwater domain is now a priority.

Between the 28th and 29th January 2014, delegates from around the world will attend the Underwater Defence and Security event in the UK with the aim of bringing together influential thought leaders so latest challenges can be discussed and innovative procedures debated.

The event, Underwater Defence & Security, which is now in its second year, will attract an audience consisting of senior and influential naval personnel from every major nation.

The key discussion points will be the very latest issues surrounding all aspects of underwater security including:

- Anti-Submarine Warfare
- Mine Counter Measures
- Maritime Patrol & Air Assets
- Unmanned Systems and ROVs
- Weapons, Decoys and Counter Measures
- C4ISR
- Training & Simulation
- Hydro-graphic Survey

Underwater Defence & Security 2014, organised by The Development Network, a well-known UK based defence event organiser, has a host of flagship events and is often seen as one of the most influential organisations for those wishing to decide upon the future of their maritime security policies. By continuing Underwater Defence and Security in 2014, The Development Network will strive to bring renewed focus on the underwater security arena.

High on the agenda at next year's meeting will be submarine developments around the world, the use of sonar to assist the detection of submarines as well as weapons and unmanned systems including Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).

Nathan Martin, Managing Director of The Development Network said, "We are extremely pleased to be following up on the success Underwater Defence & Security2013 by running the event again in 2014. By hosting the event in the Portsmouth, the home of the Royal Navy, we will continue to demonstrate the critical issues surrounding underwater warfare and security challenges. "

Underwater Defence & Security 2014 will take place at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth between the 28th and 29th January 2014.
