Union Bank of India Launches Talking ATM In Mumbai

Union Bank of India has unveiled Talking ATM in Thane, Mumbai.

Union Bank of India has launched its first Talking ATM in Thane, near Mumbai for the visually challenged. Mr. D. Sarkar, Chairman & Managing Director, Union Bank, inaugurated the ATM at Passport Seva Kendra, Thane, in the presence of varied representatives from NGOs for visually challenged, valued customers, passport officials, technology partners etc. Mr. Sarkar said that the talking ATM implemented by the bank has succeeded in enjoying wide acceptance from the NGOs representing visually challenged and the Union Bank has decided to install 50 such ATMs in Passport Seva Kendras all over India.

The talking ATM implemented by bank will provide transaction facilities to visually challenged, which will be based on voice guidance. Visually challenged persons would be required to use headphones for using the ATM. Voice guidance will be available in both English and Hindi language in Indian accent. For the first time users, Union Bank has also given a short orientation script.
