Unique List Of Speakers Makes Health+Care Leading Forum For Crucial Health Integration Debate

Thought leaders from health, social care and Government will gather to address how integrated NHS care can be provided Keynote addresses from Rt Hon Norman Lamb MP and the Rt Hon Andrew Burnham MP Social and home care speakers include Dementia

A unique line-up of visionaries, pioneers and political decision makers from across the health and social care sector will present at Health+Care series of four co-located conferences taking place at London ExCeL this summer.

Highlight speakers include Health Minister Norman Lamb, who will give a keynote address explaining plans to transform social care, with the potential for new policy to be formed based on the content from this lively opening.

Labour's position in the debate will be highlighted by Shadow Health Secretary the Rt Hon Andrew Burnham. Mr Burnham has been a vocal participant in the debate and will expand on his party's approach to whole person care - with additional emphasis on resources and future direction.

Health+Care's events on Personalisation, Dementia care, Home Care and Residential Care are designed to show how to keep people out of hospital and long-term residential care.

Other keynote speakers will include Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence, who will help to examine how to commission and implement patient-centred care, raise quality and drive efficiency. They will examine whether the system can provide real personalisation, while adapting to budgetary constraints. This goes beyond just the distribution of personal budgets and the role of commissioners in enabling it.

Keeping people out of hospital and long-term residential care is another key challenge for the health and social care system. Dementia Tsar Professor Alistair Burns will speak to his healthcare colleagues on how the industry is rising to the dementia challenge, how to commission and implement patient-centred care while raising both quality and efficiency.

Further programme highlights include lessons from Torbay and Blackburn - two of the most advanced examples of integration; the Department of Health's integration lead will outline the steps required for progress, as will leading academics; Kent's massive and 'live' health and social care integration programme will be outlined; and, the general role of HWBs will be examined.

Mike Broad, Director of Programming at Health+Care and editor of Hospital Dr says the conference is a rare opportunity for this pool of thoughtleaders to come together.

"There are pioneers around the country who are striving to implement change that will create a stronger future for our health and social care systems. It is very rare to be able to bring so many of these visionaries together at the one event. This is why Health+Care is attracting such interest from everyone involved in health and social care."

"No other event has a chance of getting all the decision makers required to deliver greater integration in the same room. Health+Care will have all the commissioners and senior directors present and primed to make huge steps forward in how we deliver health and wellbeing," says Mr Broad.

Attendance at Health+Care 2013 is free for qualifying delegates and interested parties will be able to register their attendance at http://www.healthpluscare.co.uk/.
