Unique Painting Class Teaches Painting and Distressing Techniques
Online, October 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Upscale Living Consignment is excited to announce a unique opportunity for individuals to learn the painting and distressing techniques that are used to turn old or bland furniture and decor into something much more.
This painting class is reminiscent of much of the merchandise carried within the store. As a consignment shop, consigners bring their unwanted vintage pieces into the store where it is placed upon the sales floor for someone else to discover so that the consigner can make some money. Some pieces are distressed, while others are able to satisfy the desire that some customers have for that refined shabby chic look.
Because many customers like to take their purchases home and use their imaginations to turn their new pieces into something unique, this painting class can help refine those skills and inspire new ideas.
The paints that will be used include Maisson Blanc Furniture Paint. Maisson Blanc is the home of La Craie. La Craie is French for "the chalk" and the unique formula contains calcium carbonade, which allows the paint to adhere to practically any surface. This is a paint that is being carried exclusively by Upscale Living consignment in the Kernersville area in addition to Maisson Blanc waxes. Product can be purchased in quart and 4 ounce jars.
Wax by Fiddes has also joined the inventory of exclusive paints, wax brushes, polishing/buffing tools, and paint brushes. Everything that is needed for customers to paint and distress their purchases or pieces already within their homes on their own is now found in one place.
The first four classes will take place on October 23rd and 25th at 6 p.m., October 29th at 11 a.m., and November 4th at 2 p.m. There are approximately 6 to 8 spots open per class and the cost is $75 per person for approximately 2 hours of painting, distressing, sharing, and simply having fun learning how to take those vintage finds and turn them into something no one else in the world has.
For more information, you can call Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 336-293-6868.
