Unique Technology Might Create More Jobs...

KVA STAINLESS™ is growing and looks forward to the future.

The economy has directly and indirectly contributed more attention and focus within the entire automotive industry towards better fuel economy as well as safety. KVA STAINLESS™ utilizes industry leading process technologies and patent applications of "Martensitic Stainless Steel" to offer lighter, more environmentally responsible products. KVA STAINLESS™ low mass technologies continue to provide components that are highly functional, strong and lower in cost. These solutions help automakers reduce component weight by up to 50%, leading to improved fuel efficiencies and lower CO2 emissions. "With sky-high fuel costs expected in the future and the new administration fuel economy standards being implemented, the time has come to rethink the basics of vehicle design," said Douglas Gore, Vice-President of Sales & Business Development. "We believe that autos designed with Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) along with our patented breakthrough technology will allow automakers the ability to produce a stronger and safer car without increasing the overall costs. The KVA process can be easily implemented into existing automakers plants to provide immediate solutions to reduce the weight of cars to help meet the 35 miles-per-gallon fuel economy standard."

Coming out of the Navy with no experience in heat treating, Mr. Edward McCrink started his career as a salesman for a thermal processing company in Chicago, IL. Within a couple of years, McCrink left his employer to start his own heat treating company in 1953 and grew the company to become one of the largest thermal processor in the United States. McCrink fell in love with martensitic stainless steel and has continuously pursued his vision of utilizing martensitic stainless steels to reduce weight and increase strength in components and structures.

Since successfully selling the Hi-Temp, Inc. plants in the 1970's, he has continuously pursued his vision of utilizing commonly available martensitic stainless steels to reduce weight and increase strength in structural components. "McCrink is 89 years old and still comes to work everyday and it looks like he will soon have his own putter shaft manufactured with his technology," says Gore.

KVA STAINLESS™ technology can benefit any market segment where component weight, strength and corrosion resistance are critical issues, providing a superior alternative to conventional materials. Ideal applications include:

• Automotive components and structures
• Aviation components and structures
• Gas and oil production pipelines
• Petrochemical and process piping
• Agricultural equipment
• Earth-moving equipment
• Train/rail cars and equipment
• Heat-exchangers
• Medical devices and wheelchairs
• Action sporting goods - golf, baseball, bicycles
