United Through Reading (UTR) is releasing a new podcast, "Ready for Reading," on March 22, 2022. This podcast features military families who share their UTR experiences and discuss how reading routines benefited their children during deployment with supportive conversation from leading medical professionals and reading experts.

"Ready for Reading" is a three-part series tackling various aspects of family storytime during separation, such as reading routines, how to make reading fun for the whole family, and how reading supports family readiness and military readiness to boot.

UTR keeps military families connected through recorded bedtime stories when their service member is away for training or deployment. This connecting tool allows for emotional, social, and educational growth for children during an otherwise disruptive time. UTR has adapted over the years as technology has changed, from video to DVDs to an app, and now: a podcast.

"United Through Reading is thrilled to offer yet another resource for military families around the world," said Dr. Sally Ann Zoll, CEO, United Through Reading. "Our podcast platform will provide parents and other caretakers with a combination of ideas from our most experienced users and expert advice about how to incorporate reading into your child's daily life and the significant, long-term benefits of this consistent practice."

"Ready for Reading" will be available on your favorite podcast platform, or you can check out utr.org/podcast.
