Universal Musician Michael Barber speaks on Asher Roth, new Purple Aces Tape, and Screen Plays with Spate Radio
Online, May 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Universal Records Musician, Michael Barber, recently talked with Spate Radio about his new project, The Purple Aces Project with DJ Fade, his ending of his beef with Asher Roth, and his Universal debut which is featuring a single from Grammy Nominated rap group, Nappy Roots.
When asked about his beef with Asher Roth, Barber stated, "He is a gimmick, a white kid that the label says hey throw a college shirt on him, he didn't go to college, he was working at Best Buy, he doesn't produce he write his own records, I think he is in rap's rearview window....He admitted he doesn't get a royalty check, because he is credited with only writing 2 of his own songs on his album, terrible."
Barber also went on to say that, "Asher was another Vanilla Ice, just real cliche type of rapper, doing whatever it takes to sell, and that includes selling out."
Barber also talked about his upcoming release, The Purple Aces Project, with Dj Fade, stating that he is giving an appetizer of up beat music before his Universal album comes out, and that his Universal album, "Shotguns and Canned Goods" is more of a dark look at the current state of society and the depression/recession.
Barber also mentioned he is shopping two screen plays to Lion's Gate Films, one a short, 25 minute movie called, Counterfeit, and the other is the screen play for "Shotguns and Canned Goods", that was picked up by an independent film company.
Michael is set to release his Purple Aces Project on Memorial Day weekend in Miami, and it will feature Reggae Music. His Universal release date is pending, the single, of the album name features Nappy Roots.
