University Link Magazine Celebrates Its 1-Year Anniversary With Conan O'Brien,
University Link is excited to feature Conan O'Brien on the April cover, focusing on the controversial situation with NBC and his contract to remain silent.
Online, April 5, 2010 (Newswire.com) - North Hollywood, CA (February 26, 2010) - University Link Magazine (ULM), a monthly glossy magazine written by college students and exclusively designed for college students, is celebrating its one-year anniversary this month. Debuting in April 2009, ULM now reaches over twenty-five thousand subscribers in fifty-eight universities throughout Southern California. This subscription only magazine announced today that it has secured former talk-show host Conan O'Brien for the cover of its April Issue.
Conan made headlines earlier this year when NBC shifted the time slots of their late night talk shows due to poor ratings, pushing O'Brien's The Tonight Show to an "early morning" 12:05am time. O'Brien rejected this proposal, and as a result, signed a $45 million dollar contract with NBC which prohibits him to interview with any media outlet for an unspecified amount of time. This was out of fear that O'Brien would attempt to undermine Jay Leno by appearing on a talk show the same night as Leno's return to television. No interview has been released since January-his main method of communication has been through his social networking sites, where he has received a plethora of support from his fans.
This cover story, simply titled "Conan O'Brien," features photos of Conan O'Brien, as well as questions involving the NBC incident and any animosities he might have, as well as the unintentional criticism of Jay Leno that was sparked by the conflict.
Chad Tyner, one of the founders of ULM, stated, "We are excited to have Conan O'Brien on our April cover. We have been fans of Conan for many years and wanted to show our support by having him on our cover. All of our readers eagerly anticipate his return to late night."
It is only timely that O'Brien graces our cover a year after Jimmy Fallon. Fallon, who was featured on the cover of the premiere issue of ULM, took over Late Night immediately after O'Brien's departure from NBC.
Additional articles to be found in the Anniversary Issue of ULM include feature stories of great interest to college students, such as careers, health & fitness, sports, technology, entertainment, style, politics and more.
The magazine will have a print run of 25,000 copies which will go to students who subscribed on the www.ulmagazine.com website or through a sales representative on campus. New subscribers can take advantage of the magazine's reduced annual rate of $20 for 10 issues.
