UnVarnished Show To Interview Two Congressional Candidats Sunday Morning

Project Educate the Electorate Continues Sunday with two new Congressional Candidates facing the questions about their views and plans if they get elected.

UnVarnished, an up and coming show on BlogTalk radio, continues on with its new Project Educate the Elecorate with two new guests willing to face the questions to help their electorate learn more about them.

Project Educate the Electorate gains momentum heading into its second week, with the show now being booked solid into June with prospective Congressional and Senatorial Candidates lining up to express their opinions in a truly neutral environment.

Rich Hilts, the show host of the UnVarnished Show, came up with the idea long ago, but on paper instead of the radio.

"I had thought of sending out a questionnaire to all of the candidates to get their views on 30-40 subjects with simple yes/no questions in order to delve deeper than your average 30 second soundbite can," Hilts says.

"The fact is, now we can help the candidate get their word out in a neutral question and answer period while also getting their information recorded so that their constituents who miss the show can go back and hear it for free. Also, their words are going to be recorded for posterity as well, so that their constituents can 'remember back'."

The two guests this weekend undergoing Rich's "jumping from issue to issue like a flea on a hot pan" style of questioning are two Congressional Candidates.

Todd Lally is first up at the 10:15 am Eastern slot. Todd Lally is seeking Kentucky's 3rd District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is life-long resident of Louisville and an Atherton High School graduate whose family has roots in this community for over 120 years. Lally is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Kentucky Air National Guard and a pilot on the C-130 Hercules.

Having served in the military for 22 years, he is a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. He is graduate of the Academy of Military Science and the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center and the Air-Operations Officer for the 123rd Contingency Response Group, a rapidly deployable force that can open and conduct airlift missions out of remote or damaged airfields. This group is the first Air Force personnel to arrive at a location to survey the airfield and perform combat or humanitarian operations.

Lally is the recipient of two Air Medals. The first medal was for flying 50 missions into war torn Bosnia supplying the civilian population with food and medicine. The second medal was for saving a Seattle man's life in the Atlantic Ocean. He also is a crash investigator for the U.S. Air Force. For the last four years he has been the "Voice of Thunder over Louisville" providing live commentary for Cox Radio. He also served as the past Vice-President of the National Guard Association of Kentucky.

Todd Lally is employed as a First Officer on the Boeing 757/767 flying international routes for UPS and a member in good standing of the Independent Pilot's Association since 2000.

Following Todd in the 11:15 spotlight is Corey B.Poitier from Coconut Grove, Florida. Corey is a local candidate for US Congress, District #17. He is the only Conservative in the race. He is school teacher and coach. Corey was born in Miami-Dade County and has lived in South Florida for 35 years. He is married to his wonderful wife Lisa. Corey attended school within Miami-Dade County and graduated from Coral Gables Senior High and the University of Miami. He has two degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

Corey teaches Government and Economics and coaches both North Miami Beach Volleyball Teams. Corey shares his drive and desire for knowledge and achievement both within the classroom and on the volleyball court. His passion for the education of students led him to teach at Saturday FCAT Academies and Night School. He has also fought for families in North Miami and North Miami Beach to gain citizenship, visas and safer neighborhoods. Corey also has lobbied for school programs such as D.A.R.E., S.A.D.D, Head Start and Library Literacy Programs for all children. He would make a great servant for District #17 in Washington, DC.
