UNWHT Reschedules Awareness Forum on Human Trafficking at UOG for August 23, 2014

United Nations War on Human Trafficking Association has rescheduled an awareness forum on human trafficking at University of Guam, Fine Arts Theatre to Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 1:00-4:00pm and an evening event.

The event will feature various keynote speakers and include a screening of ‘Nefarious: Merchant of Souls’, a documentary film on human sex trafficking throughout the world.

UNWHT (formerly known as WOHT) has been in pursuit to raise awareness on sexual violence and combat human trafficking has gained support from affiliates and bodies of United Nations, European Parliament, and local organizations.

UNWHT Chairman, Cary Lee Peterson says that ‘they have decided to reschedule the event due to the recent storm that caused damage and slowed down activities for everyone on the island. Nevertheless, the focus for the next couple of weeks should be on getting things back to normal’.
