Urgent Care Locations, AAUCM Partner for Exposure of Accredited Urgent Care Centers
Online, August 6, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) and Urgent Care Locations have partnered to provide AAUCM members and accredited centers a greater degree of national exposure within the urgent care and walk-in clinic industry.
As part of the partnership, AAUCM will provide Urgent Care Locations a listing of all participants in their Urgent Care Center Accreditation (UCCA) program in order to allow consumers the ability to sort and filter by this designation.
"This alliance creates an even stronger resource for urgent care consumers," explains Urgent Care Locations founder, Michael Barber, "and it coincides perfectly with our mission to be an unbiased facilitator of information and tools for the convenient care clinic industry."
Soon, Urgent Care Locations will allow users to filter their searches in their local communities to see only accredited providers. This, in addition to existing filters based on walk-in clinic category and showing only centers that are open presently will permit users to find not only the closest urgent care center to themselves, but the ones that meet their specific needs and preferences.
"Consumers already search this way for other goods and services," continues Barber, "so why not healthcare? When I buy something from Amazon, I make sure that the product is designated as 'Prime' and eligible for free two-day shipping. If I go to an urgent care center, I would prefer to know that the clinic has been accredited by a third party to ensure my family is going to receive great care."
The new feature should go live by the end of August along with other key additions including allowing patients to rate and review their own experiences at participating walk-in clinics.
